LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL, INC. Little League Baseball, Incorporated Little League Baseball, Incorporated is a non-profit organization whose mission is to "to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball."

Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.

Founded in 1939; granted Federal Charter July 16, 1964, by unanimous act of the Senate and House of representatives of the Congress of the United States of America and signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson as Public Law 88-378, 88th Congress H.R. 9234, and amended December 26, 1974, Public Law 93-551, 93rd Congress, H.R. 8864. Little League is tax exempt.

Stamford  Little League Baseball must meet the challenge of developing our youth through exemplary leadership. The following beliefs and values serve the best interests of the youth involved in the program. They will provide direction for all participants including managers, coaches, parents, players and the executive.

• Stamford  Little League should offer a quality program at an affordable price while ensuring that all players are playing safe and having fun.

• Little League is a recreational sport to be enjoyed by all players registered in the program. 

• Each child who wishes to play ball should be entitled to do so regardless of skill, sex, or financial circumstances on quality diamonds with approved equipment and under suitable conditions.

• Through involvement in Little League, the player will have the opportunity to develop the fundamental skills of the game of baseball, learn sportsmanship, socialize with their peers, develop leadership qualities and actively participate as a valuable team member.

• Team achievement, in contrast to individual achievement, must ensure that personal identity and integrity are not sacrificed for winning.

• Praise and recognition are the most effective tools in inspiring an attitude of self-confidence which is paramount in developing the competitive will to win.

• The league personnel, community and players share the responsibility of making Little League baseball a safe, wholesome activity.

• All players should leave the field feeling that their presence mattered, even if time was spent on the bench.
